Write articles and get paid with Helium

A quick post today just to say about a site I have been using recently called Helium. It's a site where you can post your articles and get paid small amounts for the adverts they place on it, whilst promoting your sites or blogs etc. It couldn't be made any simpler to use.

More importantly though is the Marketplace section on the site. If you want to earn some serious money you can write articles on requested topics and sell your articles to publishers. Prices range from $16 to $100 per article depending on length and detail required. This is a competitive field but the topics are extremly varied from T.V or video game reviews to gardening stories or tips on buying cars, the list is large. Remember you will have competiton so you do need to be able to write well, always read the writers guidelines for each article.

Another good point is the article rating your article is under a title along with other similar articles. Authors on the site then get to rate your site against another and your article will either move up or down the ranking.

You can visit Helium from the tools page. Happy Writing.

Content is SEO King.

I have been doing a lot of research into Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and have come to realise that no matter how you tweak your site the one key factor in staying near the top of search engines is content.

Just think all the people who figure out ways to optimise do so usually to the extreme of exhausting it until the search engines scrap that idea and change their ranking procedures. So that little trick to get a boring page to the top has gone and you now need to find a new one, ( or pay someone to tell you the new trick!)

The thing with good content is that it's what the search engines are looking for. So if you have good content that is relevant to your keywords you can look at the long ter optiisation of your site and any changes made by the search engines won't affect you very much, if at all.
